The Liberty Chapter's 2023 Patricia Gallagher Lecture will be part book club, part book discussion with the author. We have invited Jasmine Brown, a medical student in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, to speak with us about her book, Twice as Hard: The Stories of Black Women Who Fought to Become Physicians, From the Civil War to the 21st Century. We encourage everyone to read the book before the event and bring your questions. Please consider purchasing a copy for your institutional library or yourself through Harriett's Bookshop in Philadelphia, or your local minority owned bookstore.

Our event will be held online and will be open to all Liberty Chapter members. If you would like to see some of your fellow chapter members in-person, locations are being coordinated to attend as a group with optional social activities following the event. Chapter members in the Philadelphia area are invited to join us at the Pennsylvania Hospital Historical Library in Center City. If you would like to organize a location for a group in your area, please contact Abby Adamczyk. We will send out updates as new locations are added to the registration form. If you register as an online attendee now, you will be able to cancel and re-register as an in-person attendee later.

Please login to your member account to register.
